Delicious Aloo Palak Recipe

Aloo Palak(gravy version)

Aloo Palak is a classic Punjabi dish prepared with potatoes and spinach. I have
already posted the dry version which goes very well with rice and chapati. Today we
will learn how to prepare Aloo Palak (gravy version).This is a fantastic side dish for
chapati, naan, roti and poori.


Ingredients:

1. 1 bunch spianch
2. 1 cup tomato puree
3. 2 tbsp oil
4. 1 cup onion
5. 1 ginger
6. 4-5 cloves
7. 2 red chilli
8. 1/4 turmeric powder
9. 1 tsp chilli powder
10. 1 tsp garam masala powder
11. salt (to taste)

Method:

1.Clean & wash palak. Peel & chop boiled potato into small cubes.
  Add salt whike boiling the potatoes for evenly salty tatse.
2.Heat 1 tbsp oil in the pan. Add garlic ginger, garlic amd green chilli
  and saute for 30 seconds on low flame.
3.Add halfchopped onion and saute until it turns translucent.
4.Add chopped palak and mix well.
5.Cook for approx 3 minutes over medium flame while stirring in between
  every few seconds.
6.Turn off the flame and let it cool.
7.Grind sauteed onion-spinach in a blender and make a smooth pasrte.
8.Heat remaining 1 tbsp oil in the same pan.
9.Add remaning chopped onion saute until light brown.
10.Add garam masala, turmeric powder, cumin and coriander powder and mix well.
11.Add prepared palak puree and cook on low heat for 1-2 minutes
12.Add chopped potatoes and salt, mix throughly.
13.Add 1/2 cup water and kasuri mehthi, bring to boil over medium flame.
14.Cook untill you get the desired consistency for gravy for approx 3-4 mintues.
15.serve hot with laccha paratha or panner kulcha or any other Indian bread of your choice.
