Aloo Matar Recipe- How to make aloo matar
Aloo Matar is one of the most popular North Indian subzis, loved by Indian
across the globe.
In this easy version, a salsa like gravy of tomatoes and onion, ginger and
green chilies cooked along with aromatic spice powders houses the every popular
combo of potatoes and green peas. Serve it piping hot with rotis or puri.
Aloo Matar Banane Ke Liye Avshayak Samagri:
.1 1/2 cup potatoes boiled, peeled and cubed
.1 cup boiled green peas
.1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
.3/4 cup choped onions
.1 tsp finely choped ginger (adrak)
.1 tsp green chili paste
.1/2 tsp finely choped garlic (lehsun)
.1 cup choped tomatoes
.a pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
.1/2 tsp chili powder
.1/2 tsp garam masla
.2 tsp oil
.salt to taste
Aloo Matar Kese Banaye: (recipe)
1.First make a smooth paste with the onion, ginger, tomato
and garlic in a grinder.
2.No need to add any water while making the paste, keep this
ground paste aside.
3.Heat oil in a pot or a pressure cooker, first crackle the cumin
seeds, then add the ground onion tomato paste.
4.Stir and then add the ground almond .
5.Saute the ground paste till the oil releases from the sides.the masala
paste will also thicken the mixture splutters, so do cover partly with
a lid, once the mixture stops pluttering, then remove the lid and saute.
6.Then add the red chili powder and turmeric powder.
7.Stir and then add the peas and potatoes, saute for a minute, add water
and salt.
8.Stir well and cover the pot, simmer till the potatoes and peas are cooked
well, if pressure cooking then add 1 cup water and pressure cook for 2-3
whistles till the potatoes and peas are cooked completely.
9.Lastly sprinkle punjabi garam masala powder and stir.
10.Then add 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves.
11.Stir well and serve aloo matar curry hot with puris, rice and rice.
