Chow Mein Recipe- How To Make Chow Min



Chow Mein in Chinese and Chinese English are stir-fried noodles, the name being the
romanization of the Taishanese chau meing. The dish is popular throughout the Chinese
diaspora and appears on the menus of Chinese restaurants. It is particularly popular in
Pakistan, the United States,Nepal and India.


Chow Mein Banane Ke Liye Avshayak Samagri


for cooking noodles:

.  150 to 200 grams or whole wheat noodles or flat noodles,about 5.5 to 7lb noodles
.  5 to 6 cups wateror 1.25 to 1.5 litres water
.  1/4 teaspoon salt
.  1/2 teaspoon sesame oil or any other oil


for stir frying noodles:
.  3/4 to 1 cup 1 sliced button mushrooms
.  3/4 cup grated or shredded carrots
.  3/4 cup shredded cabbage, green or purple cabbage
.  1/4 to 1/3 cup finely chopped french beans
.  1/3 cup finely chopped onions or 1 small to medium onion or 1 medium spring onion,
   finally chopped
.  1/4 cup thinly sliced capscicum or about 1 small to medium bell pepper, green or
   yellow or red
.  1/4 cup sprouts optional
.  1/3 to 1/2 cup tofu cubes optional
.  1 teaspoon finely chopped gigner
.  1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
.  1 teaspoon finely chopped cerely(optional)

for chili sauce:

.  3 teaspoons soy sauce or add as required
.  1 tbsp tomato ketchup, or add as required
.  1/2 teaspoon black pepper or white pepper powder, add as required
.  2 teaspoon cornstarch +2 tbsp water
.  1/2 teaspoon rice vinegar or regular vinegar
.  2.5 to 3 tbsp sesame oil or any other oil
.  salt as required, add in moderation as soy sauce has a lot of salt

Chow Mein Kese Banaye: (recipe)

1. Cook noodles according to the package instruction.The noodles don't
   need to cook till al dente .Since towards the end we will be just
   tossing the noodles with the stir fried veggies

2. Drain the cooked noodles in a colander, rinse noodles in running water
   very well. This method stops the cooking process

3. Add 1/2 tsp oil to the noodles, toss them well, so that the oil gets
   coatd easily on the noodles. This method gets rid of stickness from
   the noodles, cover and keep the noodles aside

4. When the noodles are cooking you can chop and grate the veggies

5. Prepare corn starch paste with 2 tsp corn starch and 2 tsp water,
   keep aside

6. Heat oil in a pan, or work in a medium heat, first saute the green
   chilies, ginger and garlic for about 30 seconds. Green chilies add
   some heat in the dish

7. Add sring oniins, saute for  a minute

8. Add slicded mushrooms nad french beans

9. Stir and saute on a minimum flame till the edges of the mushroom gets
   lightly browned

10. Add grated carrots, shredded cabbage and sliced bell pepper

11. Stir and increase the flame to a high. Stir fry everything on a
    high flame for about 2 to 3 minutes

12. Add soy sauce, at this step you can also add tomato sauce or red
    chili sauce

13. Season with black pepper or white pepper and salt

14. Stir everything and then add the corn starch paste,  stir the corn
    starch paste very well before adding to stir fried veggies

15. Stir and saute for a minute on medium flame

16. Add the cooked noodles, increase the flame to high, mix and toss the with
    the stur fried veggies

17. Lastly add vinegar and give a mix. Switch off the flame

18. Serve veg chow mein steaming hot in serving bowls, you can also garnish
    these stir fried noodles with about 1 to 2 tsp toasted sesame seeds and
    spring onionn greens
